I was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The summer after my fourth grade year, my family moved to Conyers, Georgia. I attended Heritage High School and graduated in 1992. In June 1996, I graduated from Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia. My first four years of teaching were with the Georgia Pre-Kindergarten Program, then I taught 2nd grade for seven years, and I am about to begin my second year of teaching 3rd grade. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Tim, for eight years. We have one daughter who is about to turn 6 years old. We also have a cocker spaniel named Ginger.
